1990

Consep established in Sydney

Consep is established in Sydney. Within the first year, Consep established our first Australian installation of a Knelson Concentrator in a hard rock mining duty at Paddington Gold Mine.

1992

First Automated Knelson Concentrator installed​
Consep moves to a new 500m² design and manufacturing facility in Sydney. We installed our first Automated Knelson Concentrator at Boddington Gold Mine.

1995

H&S samplers installed at Jundee

Consep’s installation of the first H&S samplers at the Jundee Gold Mine in 1995 significantly advanced the mine’s operational efficiency and ore analysis accuracy. This milestone reflects both Jundee’s commitment to embracing leading technology in gold extraction and processing and its pivotal role in the Australian gold mining industry.

1999

WA office established​

Consep Western Australian office established and Consep expands the Sydney design and manufacturing centre to a new 2000m² facility.

2000

Acacia at Carosue Dam, Belt Feeder at Cadia​

Consep marked significant milestones by supplying the first installation of the Consep Acacia at Carosue Dam Gold Mine and delivering our inaugural Consep belt feeder to Newcrest’s Cadia. These pivotal installations underscore Consep’s role in advancing mineral processing technology and enhancing operational efficiencies at leading gold mining operations.

2003​

Knelson Concentrators installed for Freeport​

Consep delivered a comprehensive turnkey engineering package for Freeport, facilitating the installation of twelve 48” Knelson Concentrators. This project underscores Consep’s capability in providing full-scale engineering solutions, significantly enhancing Freeport’s mineral processing efficiency through advanced concentration technology.

2006

Sampling at Rio Tinto's Yandi Plant​

Consep expanded its market reach into the Iron Ore industry by supplying Consep H&S Sampling equipment to the Rio Tinto Iron Ore Yandi Plant. This entry signifies Consep’s versatile capability to cater to diverse mineral sectors, offering precision sampling solutions to one of the leading iron ore operations.

2007

Delivered high-tonnage samplers for BHP's Newman Hub​

Consep provided BHP Iron Ore with three high tonnage primary samplers for the Newman Hub Project, showcasing our ability to deliver robust and efficient sampling solutions for major iron ore processing initiatives. This supply highlights Consep’s commitment to supporting significant mining operations with advanced technology and tailored engineering expertise.

2010

Consep Hoist integral to One World Trade Center construction​

The Consep Hoist was installed and became an integral component of the new construction at the former World Trade Center site in New York. This installation underscores Consep’s role in contributing to significant architectural and construction projects, demonstrating the versatility and reliability of Consep’s engineering solutions in critical development initiatives.

2011

Engineering Excellence Award for Consep Hoist​

Consep was honoured with the Engineering Excellence Award by Engineers Australia for the Consep Hoist, recognising the company’s innovation and exceptional engineering prowess. This prestigious award highlights Consep’s commitment to developing cutting-edge solutions that significantly contribute to the engineering field, marking a notable achievement in Consep’s history of excellence.

2012

100 Acacia units and 1000 samplers worldwide​

Consep reached a significant milestone with the achievement of 100 Consep Acacia units and 1,000 installations of Consep H&S samplers worldwide. This landmark underscores Consep’s global impact and leadership in providing advanced sampling and gold processing solutions, reflecting the company’s commitment to excellence and innovation in the mining and mineral processing industries.

2013

Consep Hoist deployed at Barangaroo​

The inaugural Consep Hoist, one of thirteen, ascended the Barangaroo Development in Sydney’s CBD, marking Consep’s pivotal role in significant urban development projects. Concurrently, Consep broadened its operational footprint by moving into a new, purpose-built 10,000m² design and manufacturing centre in Sydney, signifying a major expansion aimed at enhancing its capacity for innovation and production in engineering solutions.

2014

Delivered sample stations for Roy Hill Project​

Consep supplied the Roy Hill Project with 14 Sample Stations, demonstrating Consep’s capacity to deliver comprehensive sampling solutions on a large scale. This provision to one of the major mining projects underscores Consep’s expertise and reliability in meeting the sophisticated needs of the mining industry with precision-engineered equipment.

2015

Export Award finalists and worldwide installations continued to grow​

Consep achieved a significant milestone with 500 installations of Knelson Concentrators and 200 installations of Iron Ore Industry Samplers worldwide. Consep was also a finalist in the 53rd Australian Export Awards.

2016

World's largest gravity circuit​

The expected commissioning of the world’s largest gravity circuit at Phonesack, featuring 33 48” and 8 70” Knelson Concentrators, 8 CS10000 Consep Acacia units complete with Electrowinning (EW) & Detox Circuits and 22 complete sample stations comprising 118 pieces of sampling equipment, represents a landmark project for Consep. This monumental installation not only showcases Consep’s capability to undertake projects of unprecedented scale but also highlights the company’s expertise in delivering comprehensive, state-of-the-art mineral processing and sampling solutions on a global stage.

2017

Celebrated 150th Consep Acacia​

Consep successfully achieved the milestone of supplying its 150th Consep Acacia to the global gold mining industry. This accomplishment highlights Consep’s significant contribution to enhancing gold recovery processes worldwide, emphasising the company’s position as a leader in providing efficient and reliable gold processing solutions to the mining sector.

2018

Acquired stake in Heath and Sherwood​

Consep took part ownership of Heath and Sherwood (H&S), a Canadian company established in 1927, with its production factory in Kirkland Lake, specialising in sampling and smelting equipment.

2020

Consep celebrates 30 year anniversary​

In 2020, Consep marked 30 years in business. Starting from a backyard shed, it has become a leading supplier of engineered products. Continuous investment in staff and facilities has created a vertically integrated company with R&D, design, manufacturing, and support all handled in-house at its Sydney facilities.

2022

Consep completes Heath & Sherwood purchase​

After a short delay, Consep completed the acquisition of Heath & Sherwood in 2022. With the completion of the process, Consep has commenced an investment cycle to grow H&S, and develop new products, to ensure it remains a vital part of the Kirkland Lake and Ontario community for the next 100 years.

Consep acquires US company Sizetec Inc.​

Twenty years ago, Sizetec Inc. licensed Consep in Australia to manufacture screens. In August 2023, Consep acquired Sizetec Inc., forming Consep Sizetec Ltd.

Together, the combined resources of Consep, Sizetec, and Heath & Sherwood offer extensive experience in project tendering, design, manufacturing, supply, commissioning, and site-service support for all mechanical and electrical equipment, beyond just screening equipment.

Consep acquires Quality Handling Systems (QHS)

Quality Handling Systems (QHS) was founded in Australia in 1993 and quickly grew into one of the leading suppliers of sampling systems. While QHS has installations across a wide range of commodities, its core strength lies in the coal industry, where it boasts an extensive installation portfolio. Now, with the combined expertise of Consep, H&S, and QHS, we offer our customers unmatched experience in bulk commodity sampling, with a truly global installation base.
