Drilling Tuyere Lines

Consep’s refractory drills are precision-engineered tools designed for drilling through the tough, heat-resistant materials lining high-temperature industrial furnaces, kilns and reactors.

Easily mounted and adjusted onto either side of the tuyere puncher, and powered by the punchers air supply, the drill speed and advancing force can be varied depending on the refractory characteristics and hardness. Starting the drill bit on a tangent surface (common with drilling converters) is possible and accurate with the drills “Steady Rest” feature.

These drills play a vital role in maintenance and inspection processes, allowing for the installation of temperature sensors, gas injection points or anchor systems without compromising the integrity of the refractory lining.
